Bratislava, Slovakia
We went to Bratislava last weekend. Its an old Soviet city on the Danube. Its a cool old town, with a castle. The have an interesting modern bridge and a nice old town walk platz. They also have a few modren shopping malls, hard to find in Europe. We went, and within an hour all 5 of us were bored, even though there was a spa, bowling alley, movies, casino, and really nice stores. Guys just can't do malls in Europe either.

The Bratislava Opera House and the Greek Embassy!!!! (Hint, Hint...)

This is where we stayed. It was the Botel, right on the river. Actually not a bad joint. Easy access to town and big rooms. The boat to the right was the night club, so we always managed to end up there.

This is from the top of the bridge tower looking over to the Soviet style apartments buildings. Eamons ex-girlfriend (a Russian) told him a standing joke in Russia. The joke is that you can go to anywhere in Russia and find you address, same street, same building, same apartment, same furniture. Looking at these buidlings its easy to see why.

Sankt Anton 2

Went back to St Anton with the Tannenbaum ski club. Party bus on the way down. Here I am at the rest stop.

This was hilarious. This is my buddy Tom climbing up a cliff he had just flown off. I'm one of the little people at the bottom. I got down there thinking I had lost my friends. So I'm looking back up the mountain to see if they are behind me. Then all of a sudden I see this body come flying off a cliff and slide down the mountain about 30 yards. Then he stands up, and I'm like, "hey, thats Tom!" All the Austrians are standing around me laughing at the "Amerikaner." Luckily he was fine. Basically he had been going too fast and fell, then slide right off the cliff.

The best thing about skiing in St Anton is the apre ski. This is the Moosewirt. Its a bar that is still up on the mountain. So we just come down when we are done and start drinking and dancing on the tables. A lot like Oktoberfest. Its so much fun. They say its nothing like that in the states, too bad. But, the only "bad" thing is that you still have to ski down the mountain when the bar closes. Its a riot watching all the drunk ski 5 feet, fall, laugh, ski, fall, laugh.

However, this will happen when you continue to go straight to the bars. Here a bunch of Brits thought it would be funny to pose this picture with my friend OD. Right after, OD stood up. And just disappeared out the door into town. I didn't think much over it until about 30 mins later when he hadn't come back. Cause he didn't have his jacket, wallet, cell phone, and I wasn't sure if he knew where the bar was. So i went out to find him, and asked some cops if they had seen a big guy wearing green. Then they just looked at me funny and pointed behind me and said, "you mean him," as OD came walking up to me.
Deployment Party

We threw a party the other weekend to celebrate everyone's upcoming deployment.

I apparently was a bit tired....early. But I woke up and continued the fight.
The funniest part is when T Met and Eamon wanted to keep the party going to the wee hours of the morning and ended up in a Gay bar. The only place in Trier still open. They vaguely recall recieving many free shots from fellow patrons.

This was all that was left. Well done.
Stuttgart Zoo

Went to the Zoo in Stuttgart with Nastasja. Its a very nice Zoo. They had a good amount of Primates and these hilarious gorilla babies. The zoo keeper was just sitting in the cage and they were running around fighting each other. Then they would run up to the keeper and he would pick them up and flip them over, they loved it! Mick would have liked it.

But my favorite part was finding this other animal. I had to climb the fence to get the picture, it was quite dangerous.
